Use Import/Export Wizard to Export Outlook PST File Data

Outlook has an in-built option using which you can import and export data for various purposes. Here’s how you can use it.

  • Open the Outlook application and Open the file menu by clicking on File.
  • Inside the Open & Export Tab, Click on Import/Export.
  • The Import and Export Wizard window will pop up, select Export to a file and click on Next.
  • Select Outlook Data File (.pst) and click on Next.
  • Next, choose the outlook folders and subfolders that you wish to recover and click on Next. You can select the entire Outlook profile or a few Outlook items.
  • Select a save location for the exported PST file and click on Finish.

Export Outlook PST File Using CAT Outlook Transfer Software

Exporting Outlook PST file using the CAT Outlook Transfer software involves 2 major stages.

  1. Create a Backup file of your Outlook Data.
  2. Transfer data using the created backup file.

Create Backup

Follow these simple steps to create a backup of your Outlook data

  • Download and Install CAT Outlook Transfer software.
  • Run the application on the computer from which you want to migrate your Outlook PST.
  • Select the option Transfer Outlook.
  • You will see two options select the option Backup.
  • Select the option Backup. You will see two settings: Smart Backup and Advanced Backup. Smart Backup creates a backup of Outlook data and configuration files. In contrast, Advanced Backup has more customization options to select which items to back up, backup file compression, password protection, etc.
  • Select Smart Backup. A backup file will be created. Press Next to continue.

Note: The backup file will save in the default location C:\Users\User Profile\Documents\CAT Outlook Transfer\Backups which can be changed by going to Settings.

  • Your data starts backing up. You can Pause or Stop the process if you do not wish to continue.
  • Upon completion, all the backup files will be listed. Press Finish to finish the process.

Note: You can select Advanced backup if you want more customization options like compressing or password-protecting the backup file.

Once, the backup file is created move/copy the backup file to the desired computer and transfer your data.

Transfer Outlook

To transfer your data from the backup file created follow the steps.

  • Run CAT Outlook Transfer on the destination computer.
  • Select the option Transfer and click on Transfer Outlook.
  • In the Select tab, select the backup file from which you want to transfer data. Press Next to continue.

Note: In case you have password-protected your data during backup, you will need to enter the same here under the Enter password section.

  • From the list of items select the items you want to transfer and press Next.
  • Your data will start transferring. If you do not wish to continue, you can Pause or Stop the process.
  • Upon completion, all the transferred data will be listed. Press Finish to finish the process.
